NWFA has established relationships with charitable organizations representing long-term commitments to initiatives benefiting each organization. These collaborations provide NWFA and its members with opportunities to engage in service in their own communities, helping those in need, while promoting the benefits and uses of wood flooring, and their own businesses.
NWFA wants to recognize you:
NWFA Community Service Recognition
To recognize and honor those of you who give back in your communities, the NWFA has established the Community Service Awards. This acknowledgment, presented at the NWFA Wood Flooring Expo, recognizes companies that have donated time, labor, or materials to individuals, groups, or organizations in need.
If you, or someone you know, have participated in a project that benefits others, we want to hear about it! Submit your project today!
NWFA is honored to partner with the following organizations:
NWFA Education & Research Foundation (NERF) Scholarship Program
NERF provides scholarships to help educate future generations of wood flooring professionals. Thanks to the generosity of our members, NWFA awarded $6,250 in 2016, and $10,000 in 2017. Your donations are contributing to individuals’ futures and helping them advance their careers. Help us to advance the industry by improving wood flooring knowledge and hands-on skills for the next generation of craftspeople by donating to NERF.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the NWFA Booth. Each ticket will be entered to win a brand-new Lägler TRIO floor sanding machine and 10 PST trainings (valued at $9,250). All proceeds will benefit the NWFA Education & Research Foundation Scholarship Program. The raffle rules and regulations are available here.
Gary Sinise Foundation

The Little Bit Foundation
LBF serves impoverished children in St. Louis city to remove barriers to learning and empower at-risk students to pursue their dreams. NWFA staff members volunteer at LBF every other Wednesday to improve our community. You can help during Expo by donating socks and your hotel toiletries in the LBF donation bins, located in the NWFA booth. Help us make a difference in a child’s life.
Last year, The Little Bit Foundation gave out more than 30,000 pairs of socks to children in the St. Louis are. This year, the NWFA is hosting a sock drive at Expo in support of The Little Bit Foundation. You can bring your socks with you to the Tampa Convention Center and place them in the LBF donation bin, located just outside of the trade show floor. Thank you in advance for your support – every little bit makes a difference!
Hardwood Forest Foundation
The Hardwood Forest Foundation, founded in 1989, provides responsible forestry education throughout the U.S. and Canada, with the support of its parent organization, the National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA). Its Truth About Trees elementary education presentation kit is available to NWFA members to use in their own community classrooms. The lesson plan, with wood products, videos, games and a coloring book, is designed to provide an easy way to teach K-6 students the benefits of properly harvesting trees.
The Hardwood Federation works on behalf of the hardwood industry in Washington, D.C., to ensure our voice is heard in Congress. The Hardwood Federation and the Hardwood Federation PAC rely on our donations to operate and safeguard our interests.
